we went to brodburger when we visited canberra. after a full evening of walking around questacon, we were ready to smash down some food, and we were tossing up between mookie burger and brodburger. we ended up at brodburger for the evening, but we would eventually visit mookie the very next day.
we went to the fyshwick branch which is co-located with capital brewing co. don’t panic when you come up to the entrance of the drive way and it doesn’t look like the right place to go for a burger. the driveway is shared with pickles auction. just drive right in, park your car and walk towards the crowd.
brodburger is a little red van located in the brewery. hot tip: order online en-route to the establishment as wait times are very long. we waited a little over an hour during dinner time to get our burgers and chips. this made the experience somewhat frustrating but we were really happy when it’s our turn to collect our burgers!
i got the deluxe. it came with a delicious bun, which is not too sweet. the beef patty was perfectly made with crispy crust but pink inside and deliciously moist. the egg was well done but its still really good. the homemade aioli is delicious and paired really well with the burger. it was one delicious burger.
c ordered the bacon and egg. the beef was really good, she found it to be creamy but the burger as a whole could do with more flavour. the bacon added good saltiness and was good in the burger.
unfortunately the chips were hard and cold due to waiting too long. surely they would be good freshly fried, however it was definitely due to the crowd which meant that making the burgers took a long time.
it’s a good experience, but one that we would likely not be back for – the wait is just too long!
